Running out of stuff

Hi guys,

I hope all you guys are doing well!

As you could read in my previous posts I am donating 1 item of mine every single day and I'm doing that for quite some time now and the joy of "giving' something or 'contributing' something consistently hasn't faded which is certainly great!

In fact, still I am looking forward to select an item and put it in the 'donation basket' every day!

But one thing I didn't think about in the first place starts happening now, and it is indeed quite disturbing when you're trying to find something to give away and all of a sudden you find that you're running out of stuff!

I'm runnning out of stuff!

So today again I found myself looking, searching, climbing into my wardrobe in pursue of a 'donatable' item.

It's kinda funny how quickly you're obsolete material possessions subside and you've got nothing left to give unless you decide to run around naked of live in a completely deserted flat.

Well I guess I have to make up my mind on how exactly to accomplish my donation marathon over a couple of months until new years but...
...if there is one thing for certain than it is that:

This year holds another 28 days and I will give away at least another 28 items of mine for two reasons!

1st: I will stay true to my promise to donate an item each day till new years
2nd: If it involves me having to let go of some stuff that I'm really attached to than I'll do it for the sake of contribution.

That's it for now peeps!
I hope you enjoyed the read, I appreciate all of your feedback and subscriptions!

so up until next time,

Stay cool guys!

First actual donation after weeks of constant donating!

I have been donating one item each and every day for about six weeks now and the time has come to go and get my first actual "donation" done.

The more stuff I would accumulate to be donated, the harder it would become for me to get the stuff to the local charity shop, because I do not have the luxury of a car at the moment.

In the picture below you can see the stuff I had together roughly a week before I got rid of it.

As you can see it's quite a variety of items. From books over decoration to clothes to blankets...

A bit of everything.

Up until I went to donate the stuff I put a fair few more or less bulky items on the pile such as two bodyboards and a poolnoodle haha.

See the picture below!

As you can see I tried to pack the stuff as compact as I possibly could since I was going to bring it to the charity shop with my pushbike.

Yes you can transport that on a pushbike ... and much more!

I ended up holding the black bag in my left hand and the two bodyboards tucked under my left arm too. but there was the poolnoodle still...

well, I ended up having to stick the poolnoodle in my enormous backpack you see right there.

No, I did not take any picture of that. not sure if I didn't take any because I was annoyed or embarrassed.

And No I did not give away my amazing rucksack. If you know me, then you know that you will hardly see me without it....
I love that bag!

So, the last picture is after I eventually arrived at the charity shop  after I more or less successfully crossed the highway - twice...
...people who saw me probably enjoyed it more than I did, at least at the time.
The charity shop was closed by the time I got there, but luckily I was able to donate my stuff anyway.

I was drenched in sweat when I was finished, but it has been well worth the work and effort, and of course I continue to put away an item each day and look forward to my next trip to the charity shop.

That's it for now, I hope you enjoyed the read, stay tuned for more to come and make sure to subscribe.

Decluttering my life

Ok in order to keep stretching myself, to do something good and to declutter my life I take the challenge as of today to everyday donate one item of mine which I either don't need anymore, never needed at all or just don't want anymore. Challenge starts today (for me) and ends December 31st! I won't take a picture every day but for sure I'll put the stuff on a pile and every now and again go and donate it.
You might as well think this is a pretty cool way to help and get rid of some stuff of which most of us have more than enough anyway!
I you feel like it, join me and have fun as you do it!
Don't forget to hashtag tour donations to spread the word and inspire others to do something good too!

Less stuff!

Most of us have a lot of stuff! Intentionally or not. Many of us, me included don't even realize how much stuff they really have.
Crazy enough that Alex and I got here with just two backpacks of stuff less than two years ago!
We now live in a house! Two people in a two bedroom house with a yard and a huge balcony.
Believe it or not but we're running out of space!
It's unbelievable how much stuff accumulates in so short a time.
Like, where did it all come from??
I dunno.
Just in the last couple of days we started selling off our stuff. Regardless of what it is or weather we like it or not  (we do like our stuff) and the feeling that gives me is a little bit of giving up the stuff we put in hours of work for, but moreso the feeling that the more stuff goes, the least stuff we have to worry about.
It's like a bit of a boundary that goes with each item that goes. It makes me lighter.
Incredible!
So plain said. The least stuff we have in our house the more free I somehow feel.
I don't know how it's going to be after more stuff is gone ( I'll keep you posted on that ) but so far I'm not really missing anything.
We've got all we need to prepare food and something to sit on , it's all good.
Let's see where we're going.  I invite you all to take on the journey with us and benefit from our personal experience.
See you next time! Stay tuned!
